Lesson 2 explained the certification Levels and Classes introduced in Lesson 1.

There are three certification Levels, dealing with the Environment. Some Levels have sub-categories. The Levels are summarized in the following chart:

Levels Chart (with CG exception)
Level I	Best	Day or night, 200 & 1/2
Level II (CG with CG only)	Better	Day or night, 300 & 1
Level II	Better	Day or night, 500 & 1
Level III	Good	Day only, 500 & 1

There are six certification Classes, dealing with Services. Some Classes have sub-categories. The Classes are summarized in the following chart:

Class 1, 2, 3 (Landing Services)
Class 1	Best	Land, Service & Maintain
Class 2	Better	Land & Service
Class 2A	Better	Land with limited Service
Class 3	Good	Land, no Service
Class 4 & 5 (Cargo Services)
Class 4	Best	VERTREP, 5 feet & above
Class 5	Good	VERTREP, 15 feet & above
Class 6 (In-flight Refueling Services)
Class 6	Best	50+ Gallons per Minute
Class 6R	Good	25 to 49 Gallons per Minute
