Menu bar

Menus for this template are provided by Brothercake's Ultra Dropdown Menu (UDM), available free for non-commercial use. The contents of the menu are in an unordered list at the bottom of the page, providing an accessible text link version of the menu. In this template, the menu list is provided by a Dreamweaver "Library" file so it is common to all the pages on your site. See Homer for important instructions on how to modify the menu list.

You may also modify the appearance of the menu bar, making it horizontal or vertical, changing the color scheme, and so forth. Again, see Homer for details.

Images

The image above is assigned the "imgleft" CSS class so that it will float on the left margin and the text will wrap around it to the right. You may also use the "imgright" class to float the image on the right with the text wrapping around on the left. More on placing images in Homer.

Accessibility

This template is designed to be accessible for disabled users. As you modify the template to create your own pages, you can check to see that you're maintaining accessibility by posting your pages on your own Web site, browsing to it (be sure you're not just previewing the page from your hard disc), and clicking on the "Go" button. After your page processes, click the "Accessibility" tab in WebXACT for details on how to correct any accessibility errors that may have crept into your page.

Leave this link intact so your instructor can check the accessibility of your work. Once the course is over, you may remove this link, or relocate it to, say, the copyright page. More on Web site accessibility in Homer.
