  1. Title: Handbook of Human Performance Technology, 3rd Edition
APA Reference: Pershing, J. A. (2006). Handbook of human performance technology, 3rd ed. San Francisco, CA: John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
Summary: This comprehensive sourcebook not only updates key foundational chapters on organizational change, evaluation, instructional design, and motivation, it also features breakthrough chapters on “performance technology in action” and addresses many new topics in the field, such as certification, Six Sigma, and communities of practice.
My Comments: Visually inaccessible because if it’s shear size, the essays should be absorbed one at a time. It was unfortunate this was only used for one class, for one essay – this made the almost $100 price tag seam like overkill. But the price is right – just take the time to read more than what’s assigned for class. If you’re serious about the PT field, or are going after a CPT designation, this volume must be on your shelf, no question.
