I always try to build tools that can not only be used on various platforms, but are also “future proof”, maintaining close adherence to the most-widely-accepted file format standards (which stand the best chance of sticking around for a while, like the US power plug or the height of a table). Each chapter builds upon the last, starting with how to listen to a podcast, then how to record, produce, distribute, and market a podcast. A new copy even includes a companion CD filled with freeware for Mac, PC, and Linux. On my desk as part of the “10 best books”.
